It was a game of two halves and Chip Kelly’s style, meant to keep the other team on their heels seemed to backfire in the second half as the Eagles looked tired on offense and their defense, which had been playing good began to regress.
The Eagles held on to a 33-27 win over the Redskins that required a good bit of holding on at the end.
In fact, the Eagles had the chance put away a game they should have been able close out after the first half. However, Kelly was pleased with the team’s effort.
“We’re excited. We played with a lot of energy. We made some mistakes, the coach included, but if we play hard, we have a shot and they played hard,” Kelly said, via Bob Ford of Philly.com.
“It’s not a bag of tricks. It’s football,” Kelly said. “You try to put yourself in formations that are an advantage to you.”
