Chop Robinson is an American professional football linebacker for the Miami Dolphins of the NFL. Robinson was selected by the Miami Dolphins with the 21st overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. He played his college football for Penn State Nittany Lions and played as the defensive end. Prior to Penn State, Robinson started his college football career with the Maryland Terrapins and only spent a single season with them (2021). After the conclusion of the 2021 season, Robinson transferred to Penn State and played for two seasons before declaring for the 2024 NFL draft. Born in Gaithersburg, Maryland, United States, Robinson attended Quince Orchard High School. He is a former four-star recruit who also participated in the 2020 Under Armour All-American game.

Robinson was named to the First-team All Big-Ten in 2023 and had also earned preseason second-team All-American honors. He was also named to several watchlists such as the Bednarik Award, Lombardi Award, and Bronko Nagurski Trophy. However, the list does not end there. In 2022, Robinson was named to Pro Football Focus All-Big Ten second-team selection and also earned the team’s Reid Robinson Outstanding Defensive Lineman Award. ESPN ranked him as the 3rd best linebacker and he is also incredibly fast. Last but not least is Robinson’s effort level as he works extremely hard and gives it his all when he is on the field.

Chop Robinson’s 40-time

Chop Robinson clocked his 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds at 2024 combine. As mentioned earlier, he is an incredible athlete and Robinson’s 40-time was the fastest amongst defensive linemen. Not only that, his 10-yard split of 1.54 seconds set a new record amongst edge rushers. Robinson also recorded an incredible 34.5-inch vertical jump, and a 10’8” broad jump. He had the NFL scouts impressed and his 40-time is the 5th fastest amongst edge rushers who weigh more than 250 pounds since 2003.

Being one of the top players in the 2024 draft class, Robinson should be a lock for the first round. One of the best players on the defensive side of the ball and for sure a top edge rushing prospect, Robinson will provide a huge boost for any teams looking to improve their pass-rushing defense. As per the various mock drafts taking place, many have him going between pick number 20 and 30 with a couple seeing him in Detroit playing for the Lions.
