Godwin was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the 84th pick in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft. By the end of his first season with the Bucs, Godwin had caught 34 passes for 525 yards and one touchdown. Godwin had a great start to the next season, finishing with 59 receptions for 842 yards and seven touchdowns. Godwin was named to his first Pro Bowl in the 2019 season, following that, Godwin hauled up 65 passes for 840 yards and seven touchdowns in 12 games in the 2020 season. Godwin had a ligament injury that halted his 2021 campaign. Godwin signed a three-year contract extension with the Buccaneers in 2022. Godwin had 83 receptions for 1024 yards and two scores by the end of the 2023 campaign.
