The New Orleans Saints ruled out wide receiver Chris Olave for the remainder of their Week 6 game on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after he went down in the first quarter with a concussion.
Given the nature of Olave's injury, it's not surprising to learn that the wideout was DNP on the Saints' estimated practice report on Monday.
Olave has continued to be a vital component of the Saints offense through the first five games of this season, racking up nearly 300 yards on 22 grabs and a touchdown. However, he's at risk of missing out in Week 7.

Chris Olave's situation is worth keeping an eye on on Tuesday and Wednesday after being an estimated DNP in practice on Monday. However, it appears highly improbable that he would clear the concussion procedures in a week.
The fact that Rashid Shaheed, another receiver on offense, was also DNP on the estimated injury report on Monday due to a knee issue indicates how banged up New Orleans' receiving group is right now. They need to quickly recuperate to have a chance to play their next game on Thursday.
The NFL's Week 7 schedule begins with a Thursday Night Football matchup between the Saints and the Denver Broncos.
Chris Olave had been through the league's concussion protocol twice in the last three NFL seasons. Due to a concussion, he couldn't play in a 2023 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
He also entered the concussion protocol after a head injury against the Seattle Seahawks in 2022. As a result, he was forced to miss the next game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Chris Olave injury update: What happened to the Saints' WR?
The New Orleans Saints continued to be plagued by injuries in Week 6, adding another name to their extensive list of problems this season. Wide receiver Chris Olave suffered a concussion and was ruled out for the remainder of the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
Three plays into New Orleans' opening offensive drive, Olave snagged his first pass, a five-yarder from rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler. The wide receiver attempted to outpace safety Tykee Smith of Tampa Bay but was struck hard by cornerback Zyon McCollum, and the ball was knocked out of his hands.
The Bucs went ahead to take a 14-0 lead over New Orleans after safety Antoine Winfield Jr. had picked up the ball and scored a defensive touchdown on a 58-yard return.
Chris Olave was given prompt medical attention by Buccaneers and Saints medical staff before he proceeded to the medical tent for additional attention. He eventually made his way to the locker room before being declared out of the remainder of the game.
Olave unsurprisingly popped up on the Saints' first injury report of the week and is now an injury risk for the Broncos game on Thursday. Mason Tipton, Cedrick Wilson Jr. and Bub Means may have more chances in the Saints offense if Olave is sidelined.
