Christian Kirk fantasy football outlook

Christian Kirk regressed in fantasy football last season, finishing as the WR47 after a WR11 finish in the year prior.

Some of that was due to his role being reduced for the Jacksonville Jaguars after the arrival of Calvin Ridley, but the latter is no longer with the team. This gives Kirk a legitimate opportunity to bounce back during the 2024 NFL season. Here's where his fantasy outlook currently stands.

Christian Kirk set career-highs in just about every receiving category in his first season with Jacksonville two years ago. This also resulted in a career-best WR11 finish in fantasy football. But the addition of Calvin Ridley ahead of his second season changed his role in their offense.

Ridley is no longer with the team for the 2024 season, so Kirk may regain his role as the WR1 for Trevor Lawrence.

He will compete with newcomers Gabe Davis and Brian Thomas Jr., but given his history with the team, he appears to be in a good spot to be the top target. This makes him an intriguing player to target in fantasy drafts at his current ADP.

Christian Kirk 2024 fantasy outlook, ADP and 2023 stats

Kirk totaled 57 receptions on 85 targets for 787 yards and three touchdowns in his relatively disappointing 2023 season with the Jaguars. He finished as the WR47 in fantasy football, his lowest finish since the 2020 season when he was still with the Arizona Cardinals.

This has resulted in his ADP taking a hit in 2024 fantasy football drafts, and he now comes in at WR31 and the 70th overall player. His situation with the Jaguars this year and his potential to reclaim their WR1 role makes him a valuable player to target at his current ADP.

Is Christian Kirk a good pick in fantasy football this year?

Finding mid-round value is extremely important in fantasy football as these players often serve as the building blocks of any roster. Kirk has more upside than many other players at a similar ADP, especially considering he has finished higher than his current ranking in two of the past three seasons.

If he can get back to his first season-level with the Jaguars, which included 84 receptions on 133 targets for 1,108 yards and eight touchdowns, he could be an absolute steal at his current ADP. Not many players in a similar tier have a higher ceiling than Kirk does, while his floor appears to be safe as well.

His current ADP suggests that Christian Kirk can be targeted around the sixth round of the 2024 fantasy football drafts. He is most often being taken as WR3 or Flex option for most fantasy rosters, but he has the upside to outperform that role by a wide margin. This is demonstrated by his finishing in the WR1-range on most rosters just two years ago.

Sportskeeda's Who Should I Draft tool recommends selecting Kirk in favor of his former teammate Ridley. He also has superior projections to other established veteran options like Keenan Allen and Chris Godwin. At his current ADP, Kirk makes for an excellent wide receiver to target this year.
