As per reports, Christian McCaffrey could be ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a PCL injury against the Bills. This is bad news for any fantasy managers who want to select the 49ers running back in their team for Week 14.

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan addressed McCaffrey's injury after Sunday's game.

"I think potentially [it's season-ending]," Shanahan said. "I think PCL is usually a couple weeks, but I'm not exactly sure yet."

McCaffrey picked up the injury early in the second quarter. The running back took a pitch to the right and as he planted his feet to turn upfield, he slid without any contact.

McCaffrey got up and began jumping on the spot before limping toward the blue injury tent. He then headed to the locker room for further examination and was ruled out for the rest of the game.

Per reports, McCaffrey will undergo tests on Monday to determine the extent of the damage to his knee.

McCaffrey has had an injury-hit 2024 season. He missed the start of the season due to an Achilles injury, and made his season debut in Week 10 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

He was getting into his rhythm in the past few weeks, but it appears that McCaffrey has suffered another setback, that could potentially keep him out for the rest of the season.

McCaffrey will certainly miss the Week 14 matchup against the Bears, which naturally means fantasy managers should keep away from picking him for Sunday's game.

McCaffrey has tallied 202 yards on 50 carries and also added 146 yards on 15 receptions. He has not scored a touchdown this season across four games.

Now, it remains to be seen whether McCaffrey can build on those numbers if he can return for San Francisco later in the season.
