The Cincinnati Bengals and the Indianapolis Colts closed their preseason on Thursday, with the Colts winning 27-14 in a game that had some great moments and created some expectations for the upcoming season.
Joe Burrow did not play in this game, but the Colts trotted Anthony Richardson on the field and their starting quarterback certainly didn't help himself, as he threw a pick-six alongside his touchdown. The Colts had four quarterbacks throwing for them, while the Bengals had only QB3 Logan Woodside playing.
Cincinnati Bengals vs Indianapolis Colts: Stats
Starting quarterback Anthony Richardson was the biggest name featured on the night, and he finished the day with eight completions out of 14 attempts. He had 86 passing yards and three rushing yards, but the team wouldn't allow him to run the ball in the preseason.

Logan Woodside finished the game with 16 completions in 21 attempts, but his passing yards were a mere 98 for 4.7 average per attempt. It wasn't the greatest exhibition in history, although it's important to notice that, since Cincinnati rested all its starters, he also wasn't helped by the cast around him.
One of the players who helped himself the most was Trayveon Williams, who ended the day with 11 carries for 66 yards. His 6.0 average per carry was absolutely excellent and should help his cause of making the 53-man roster a lot.
Cincinnati Bengals vs Indianapolis Colts: Summary
The Colts scored first with Anthony Richardson connecting with Adonai Mitchell, but the second-year quarterback also gave away a cheap pick-six that leveled the score. However, Indianapolis dominated the game nevertheless, scoring a field goal in the second quarter and later making the game 20-7.
Cincinnati did score a touchdown to make the game a one-possession contest late in the fourth quarter but they were unable to stop Indianapolis as they bled out the clock. In the end, they were still able to score a touchdown to finish 27-14.
They now will both move on to the regular season, as the Bengals start their 2024 against the New England Patriots, while the Colts will play the Houston Texans.
