C.J. Stroud is a quarterback for the Houston Texans as of the 2024 NFL season. He was drafted 2nd overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft by the Texans. Stroud had played as the starting QB for the Ohio State University Buckeyes for 2 seasons - 2021 & 2022. He threw for over 8000 passing yards, as well as 85 touchdowns - leading him to become a Heisman trophy finalist in both years. In the 45-14 thrashing of the Browns, Stroud finished the game going with 16 of 21 passes completed, for a gain of 274 yards and three touchdowns. He became the youngest quarterback in league history to win a playoff game. His season-long statistics, throwing for over 4100 yards and 23 Touchdowns, have set new franchise and rookie benchmarks. They have also led Stroud to win the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.
