The Chicago Bears' tight end Cole Kmet was born on March 10, 1999. In the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Bears selected him with the 43rd overall choice. He played football and baseball while attending St. Viator High School. He then went on to enroll at Notre Dame University. He started 18 of the 35 games he played in over his three seasons with the Fighting Irish, recording 60 carries for 691 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

During the 2020 NFL Combine, Kmet recorded a 10-foot, 3-inch broad jump, a 37-inch vertical jump, and a 40-yard dash in 4.70 seconds. He signed a rookie four-year contract after the Bears selected him in the draft, and then in 2023, it was extended for another four years. Throughout his five NFL seasons, he has participated in 72 games, starting 65 of them, and amassed 232 carries, 2,337 receiving yards, and 16 touchdowns.
