Cordarrelle Patterson is a professional American footballer who plays as a running back, wide receiver, and return specialist in the National Football League (NFL). Patterson's professional career started in the year 2013 when he was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round with the 27th overall pick of the NFL draft 2013.
In the 2013 season opener game Patterson caught his first NFL pass and in a game against the Chicago Bears, he scored his first NFL touchdown. He continued his brilliant performance week after week and because of his performance, he was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month. In a game against the Baltimore Ravens, he had a career-changing performance and in the following game, he scored his longest receiving touchdown. In the final game of the season against the Detroit Lions he scored the very last touchdown as Vikings won. In the subsequent seasons, he did not perform very well as a receiver however he became a successful kick returner.
In 2018 he signed a deal of two years worth $8.5 million with the Oakland Raiders and in a 26-16 victory game against the Tennessee Titans he made his team debut and in the following game, he had one rush for 5 yards and one reception for 2 yards. In the 2018 season, the Vikings traded Patterson to the New England Patriots and he made his group debut against the Houston Texans. In the Divisional Round in a game against the Los Angeles Chargers, he had a three yard rush and a 23 yard return as the Patriots won with 41-28.
In the 2019 season, Patterson signed a deal of two years worth $10 million with the Chicago Bears and in a game against the Green Bay Packers, he made his team debut. In 2019 Patterson was named to his first Pro Bowl. In 2021 he signed a deal of one year with the Atlanta Falcons worth $3 million and in a game against the Dallas Cowboys where he played as a defense recorded a career-high 108 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. He resigned a deal of two years worth $10.5 million with the Falcons in 2022.
