D'Andre Swift injury update: Week 9 fantasy outlook for the Detroit Lions' running back

Detroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift is having a disappointing season so far. He has missed four games since the Week 3 28-24 loss against the Minnesota Vikings. He suffered a shoulder injury during the game, which kept him away from the football field until Week 8.

Last week, the Detroit Lions met the Miami Dolphins and suffered their sixth loss of the season. Swift featured in the game and recorded five carries for six yards and five receptions for 27 yards. He was used sparingly throughout the match and was eventually listed as questionable for their Week 9 match against the Green Bay Packers.

D'Andre Swift is still suffering from injuries to his ankle and shoulder. According to head coach Dan Campbell, they used him too much in last week's game. Campbell, while speaking to the media, also said that Swift is feeling much better than he did last week.

Swift is in his third NFL season with the Detroit Lions. He was very good last season, rushing for 617 yards and five touchdowns in 151 attempts. He also recorded 452 yards and two touchdowns through the air. He has the ability to earn a lot of fantasy points this season if he can regain his fitness.

If Swift misses this game, the Lions will start Jamaal Williams. Williams is a decent fantasy option to start most weeks, but without Swift he is an RB1. Williams has scored eight rushing touchdowns and recorded 464 yards from 102 rushing attempts. Williams is making the most out of the opportunities he is getting and is definitely a better fantasy option than D'Andre Swift this week.
