Dak Prescott, a quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys for the past eight seasons, was first drafted in 2016 as the #135 pick in the fourth round. He went to Haughton High School and in 2011, he enrolled at Mississippi State University and was a standout player for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, having been named to the first team of the SEC twice. With at least 1,500 pass attempts, Prescott is fourth all-time in completion percentage and fifth in the NFL's all-time regular season career passer rating.

Prescott was supposed to be a backup in his rookie year but became the starting quarterback for the Cowboys after Tony Romo suffered an injury. In the process, he set multiple rookie quarterback records, guided the Cowboys to the top seed in the National Football Conference (NFC), and was named Offensive Rookie of the Year. Since then, Prescott has made three trips to the Pro Bowl and guided the Cowboys to three more division victories. He was also named the 2022 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year.

What is Dak Prescott's 40-time?

At the 2016 NFL Combine, Dak Prescott ran a 4.79-second 40-yard dash. However, it was his passing that became the tale of the tape in the rookie season for the history books; Prescott would set the record for the highest passer rating, completion percentage, and most wins by a rookie. But, at the same time, the Louisiana native was making lethal use of his run game.

Prescott was chosen as the eighth quarterback overall in the 2016 draft. Prescott was drafted by the Cowboys with a fourth-round selection. Since then, he's led his team to three playoffs. Having been selected to the Pro Bowl three times, he would have been added in 2021 if he hadn't declined the chance to be replaced.

According to ESPN, Prescott did not appear very pleased with his selection as the 135th pick in the fourth round when the Cowboys called him in April 2016. When Cowboys Vice President of Player Personnel Will McClay handed Jones the phone so the owner/general manager could inform him that he was a Cowboy, Prescott did not erupt into a wild shout. He stated that he was excited, but it appeared muted.
