Rayne Dakota Prescott is an American football quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL. The Cowboys drafted Prescott with the 135th pick in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Following a successful rookie campaign, Prescott won the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award and was named to the Pro Bowl. In 2017, Prescott recorded a total of 357 running yards, six rushing touchdowns, 13 interceptions, 22, passing touchdowns, and 3,324 passing yards. In 2018, Prescott was named to his second Pro Bowl. Following the 2019 season, he was voted 46th in the NFL's Top 100 Players of 2020 by his teammates. In 2020, Prescott was assigned a franchise tag by the Cowboys. In 2021, Prescott extended his contract with the Cowboys for four years. He won the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year in 2022 and was named one of the NFL MVP finalists for the 2023 NFL season.

Prescott played collegiate football at Mississippi State University from 2011-2015. After redshirting through his true freshman season, Prescott appeared in all 12 games during the 2012 season. The following season, Prescott recorded 156 receptions for 1,940 yards, seven interceptions and 10 touchdowns. In addition to being a finalist for the Davey O'Brien, Maxwell, Johnny Unitas Golden Arm, and Manning Awards, he also won the Conerly Trophy. Additionally, he came in eighth place in the 2014 Heisman Trophy votes. He received First-team All-SEC honors twice in 2014 and 2015 respectively. Prior to his collegiate career, Prescott attended Haughton High School.

According to Draftsharks, Dak Prescott has suffered multiple injuries during his eight-year career in the NFL, as of October 2024. He suffered a shoulder injury in December 2019, followed by an ankle dislocation and fracture in October 2020. In 2021, he sustained a shoulder injury again in July, followed by a calf strain in October. He sustained a thumb fracture in September 2022 as well.

On 15th December, 2019, Prescott injured his right shoulder during the Week 15 game against the Rams. However, he did not miss any games.

Pedal Ankle Fracture, Pedal Ankle Dislocation (2020)

Prescott sustained an right ankle dislocation and fracture during the Week 5 game against the Giants on 11th October, 2020. He underwent surgery the same night and was ruled out for the season.

Shoulder Injury (2021)

On July 28, 2021, Prescott injured his right shoulder during the off-season training camp.

Leg Calf Strain (2021)

Prescott sustained a right calf strain during the Week 6 game against the Patriots on 17th October, 2021.

Hand-Thumb Fracture (2022)

Prescott sustained a right thumb fracture during the Week 1 game against the Buccaneers on 11th September, 2022. A metal plate was implanted in his thumb and was ruled out for 6-8 weeks.
