Dallas Goedert, Dalton Kincaid and Jake Ferguson – these three have become among the most important tight ends in today's NFL. Each man's assignment is relatively simple: either create space through which their running backs can run or draw mismatches when targeted for a pass (defensive linemen are usually too slow; defensive backs too small).
But who can do those jobs better? It depends on the situation, and this analysis aims to discover who has the best fantasy value in Week 4.

Dallas Goedert has been one of the Philadelphia Eagles' top two receivers: 239 yards (tied with DeVonta Smith) from 17 receptions. After an injury took him out of commission for a good portion of 2023, that should be a good sign of where his trajectory is this season.
Against the New Orleans Saints, he faced a strong defense that boasted three linebackers who could stop him: Demario Davis, Willie Gay and Pete Werner. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will look to do the same on Sunday. They may even consider throwing secondary double or even triple-teams at him, depending on what defensive formation they use.
Is Dalton Kincaid a good fantasy pick in Week 4?
As a first-round pick in 2023, Dalton Kincaid was always expected to be a potential franchise player. But that has proven more impressive given the events that transpired during the ensuing offseason.
The Buffalo Bills saw top wideouts Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis leave for the AFC South. Then they had to scramble to rearrange their wide receiver room via the draft and free agency. Yet Kincaid has been a bright spot in the passing game, being one of the team's top three receivers with 85 yards from 11 catches and a touchdown. Kincaid and Co. face the Baltimore Ravens on the road on Sunday.
Is Jake Ferguson a good fantasy pick in Week 4?
Jake Ferguson has the makings of a superstar in the mold of Travis Kelce. He is playing for the league's most popular team, the Dallas Cowboys, has made a Pro Bowl, and is dating one of the most popular collegiate athletes ever.
The last two games have seemingly proven why the Cowboys need him. As he sat on the bench with a knee injury in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints, Luke Schoonmaker failed to play above his lofty second-round position. Then when Ferguson returned in Week 3 against the Baltimore Ravens, he exploded for 95 yards on six catches – the Cowboys' best receiver of the afternoon.
He should have a rather easier time against the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football, whose secondary is sorely lacking in impact.
Dallas Goedert or Dalton Kincaid or Jake Ferguson: Whom should I start in Week 4?
The Sportskeeda Start/Sit Optimizer is siding with the youngest of the three – sophomore Dalton Kincaid – who has the tools to be the top pass-catcher in Orchard Park in the post-Stefon Diggs era.
He has been nothing but promising and efficient for the Bills, especially at a time when they are thought to be rebuilding, but instead have won their first three games. If the Baltimore Ravens want to win their Sunday Night Football clash, then they need to contain him – whether it be through Roquan Smith or any of their secondary.
