As Dallas Goedert likely knows, the Philadelphia Eagles are far from the Zach Ertz era at tight end. However, fantasy football managers will have their choice between the two and many more tight ends this August. The options can be overwhelming, and for the unprepared player, it can be self-destructive. That said, Goedert is a known name for most players, but that can be a trap for managers.
Is Dallas Goedert worth seriously considering? Here's a look at the tight end, using Sportskeeda's Fantasy Calculator.

At the end of the day, yes, Goedert is worth spending a draft pick on. However, spending the incorrect draft capital on his could sink one's team. As such, fantasy football managers should tread carefully. A deeper look at where Goedert should be drafted is down below.
Dallas Goedert 2024 fantasy outlook
According to Sportskeeda's fantasy simulation, Goedert won't have one of the top sets of numbers in the league this season. However, he also will be far from having one of the league's worst as well. The simulation calculates that Goedert will earn 786 yards and roughly four receiving touchdowns.
While one would like to see more reasons to celebrate in the endzone this year, nearly 800 yards of production is about as good as it gets for tight ends not named Travis Kelce or George Kittle.
Is Dallas Goedert a good pick in fantasy football this year?
If drafted at the correct spot, Goedert should offer a decent return on investment this year. However, if a fantasy manager spends one of their top picks on Goedert, they could be missing out on massive points this year elsewhere. In other words, look at Goedert as a thrifty steal in the middle of the draft or slightly earlier than in the middle.
Where should you draft Dallas Goedert this year?
Goedert will be far from an outright bust. However, one can draft him far too high as well. Goedert works as a player to be drafted around the eighth round. His projected stats of 800 yards and four touchdowns can be found relatively easily at other positions.
However, tight ends can be sparse, which makes the calculus tricky. If there is an early run on tight ends and a manager feels the need to suddenly draft Goedert in, say, the third round, they'd be better off looking for a 1000+ yard receiver, assuming they haven't already tallied up multiple receivers.
In other words, Goedert should be picked up as somewhat of a diamond in the rough that most other managers have glossed over.
