Dalton Kincaid and T.J. Hockenson are two first-round tight ends who have worked their way into becoming a primary passing option for their teams. However, most fantasy football rosters have room for only one player at their position. The few that do allow for two will have a receiver and a blocker, but both these men are the former type.
With this dilemma in mind, it is time to ask the question: Whom should a manager start?

After a solid rookie campaign that saw him cover almost 700 yards, Dalton Kincaid was expected to be even more dominant as a sophomore, especially in the wake of the departures of Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, he has not been able to live up to expectations.
Injuries have been a factor, but he has also just been unable to dominate games like he should, with a 53-yard showing at the Detroit Lions last time out being his best output. That game put him as the TE10 in Sportskeeda's weekly rankings ahead of Sunday's matchup against the New England Patriots, who are "mid" when it comes to containing tight ends with an average of 12.53 points allowed.
Is T.J. Hockenson a good fantasy pick in Week 16
It is a shame that T.J. Hockenson's 2023 injury happened at the worst possible time: with two games still to be played, he was nearing his first-ever-thousand yard season and the first in franchise history at his position since Joe Sensor in 1981 (for context, not even franchise great Steve Jordan ever hit that mark in his career).
But ever since his return in Week 9, he has been slowly regaining his form with 351 yards, including a season-best 114 at the Chicago Bears in Week 12. And the Seattle Seahawks are also "mid" against TEs, allowing 12.48 points on average (just .05 fewer than the Patriots).
Whom should I start between Dalton Kincaid and T.J. Hockenson?
The Sportskeeda Start/Sit Optimizer is siding with the more experienced player who has been on a hot streak since his return here.
While it could be true that Kincaid possesses more upside, it depends on how he is used in the offense. Right now, however, he is being used rather poorly – and it could also affect how fantasy managers perceive him.
