Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin suffered an on-field cardiac arrest while playing against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17. The Bills-Bengals game was put on hold Monday night when Buffalo safety Damar Hamlin fell on the field, and the NFL said Thursday that it will not resume.
The decision was made on Thursday and the NFL stated:
“not playing the Buffalo-Cincinnati game to its conclusion will have no effect on which clubs qualify for the postseason. No club would qualify for the postseason and no club will be eliminated based on the outcome of this game.”

The Bills safety collapsed during the first quarter of Buffalo's game against Cincinnati on Monday night. Medical personnel had to conduct CPR on Hamlin on the field in order to save his life.

Hamlin's condition has significantly improved over the last day, despite the fact that it was grim when he was sent to the hospital on Monday. The Buffalo Bills said on Friday that he is no longer using a breathing tube and that he even used FaceTime to chat with several of his teammates.
The league is entering the final week of the regular season, and the NFL has announced that all 32 teams will show support in honor of Damar Hamlin this weekend.
On Sunday, when they play the Patriots, the Bills will wear patches with Hamlin's No. 3 to express their support for him. Additionally, Bills employees will receive a New Era cap with a "3" printed on it, which they may use during warm-ups.
What will other NFL teams do in order to show support for Damar Hamlin in Week 18?

Apart from the Buffalo Bills, the 31 other teams will also be showing support for Damar Hamlin in the final week of the regular season.
The NFL has released a public address announcing that teams are urged to read before the national anthem, according to the league. The announcement is meant to be a display of unity for Hamlin, first responders, and medical caretakers.
Both clubs will also color their field in honor of Hamlin, in addition to a pregame moment of support. They will put a blue outline on the number 3 at the 30 yard mark line. An example of such was provided by the Atlanta Falcons.
A black Nike tee that reads "Love for Damar 3" will be available for each NFL player to wear during pregame. The jersey will be made available to the Bills as well. However, they will wear royal blue shirts as opposed to black.
