Damien Harris injury update: Week 16 fantasy outlook for the Patriots RB

New England Patriots running back Damien Harris is playing his fourth season in the NFL. The Patriots will face the Cincinnati Bengals on the Christmas Eve, at Gillete Stadium in in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

The Patriots suffered a 30-24 loss against the Las Vegas Raiders last week and are currently placed third in the AFC East with a 7-7 record. Patriots starting RB Damien Harris missed the last week game due to his ongoing thigh injury.

Harris played his last game against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 12, where he suffered a right thigh injury and exited the game quite early. Since then he has remained questionable since the last three games.

After the game, Damien Harris was observed walking with a severe limp and using crutches. He was also in great pain and found it difficult to even put on a pair of pants in the locker room.

Harris rushed for 16 yards on five attempts in the game against the Vikings. Harris is listed as questionable in the depth chart again in Week 16. He was a limited participant in the practise sessions, as he was the previous week, and he was inactive.

In his absence backup, practice RB Rhamondre Stevenson started two of the three games and RB Kevin Harris took the starting job for the last one. Stevenson is also questionable for the next game after he sustained an ankle injury during the Week 14 game.

Stevenson did feature in the last game and rushed for 172 yards in 19 attempts and scored a touchdown. In the upcoming game, Rhamondre Stevenson will most likely start for the Patriots.

If you play fantasy football, we recommend sitting Damien Harris this week. If you have Stevenson on your roster, you can play him; otherwise, the Patriots offense should be avoided in fantasy leagues for the time being.

In his career so far, he has started in 33 out of the 36 games and has rushed for 2015 yards on 427 attempts and scored 20 touchdowns. Harris is playing his fourth and final year with the Patriots and next year he might look for a new team as a free agent.
