D'Andre Swift, a Georgia graduate, skipped his senior year to participate in the 2020 NFL Draft, and the Detroit Lions selected him as the 35th overall choice in the second round. Later, he got traded to the Philadelphia Eagles for the 2023 season; he was also named for the Pro Bowl in the same season. The most recent contract he secured was a three-year agreement with the Chicago Bears in March 2024.

The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, native Swift was born on January 14, 1999. He began playing football at St. Joseph's Preparatory School and has scored 25 touchdowns and gained 1,564 rushing yards on 149 carries. Swift signed a four-year, $8.5 million contract with the Lions in July 2020. He teamed up with Adrian Peterson and Kerryon Johnson in the backfield during his first NFL season. He scored his first career rushing touchdown in September 2020, his professional debut. However, in the closing seconds of the game against the Chicago Bears, he failed to catch a pass that would have won the game.

Against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 6, Swift ran for 116 yards and two touchdowns, making history as the first rookie running back for the Lions to accomplish it since Barry Sanders in 1989. He recorded 149 scrimmage yards and a receiving score in the 30-27 victory against the Washington Football Team in Week 10.

Swift finished his three seasons with the Lions with 364 carries for 1,680 yards and 18 rushing touchdowns, as well as 156 receptions for 1,198 yards and seven receiving touchdowns in 40 games.

In the 2023 season, with the Philadelphia Eagles, he played in 16 games, starting 15 of them, recording 229 carries for 1,049 rushing yards and five touchdowns, while 39 receptions for 214 receiving yards and one touchdown.
