NFL running back D'Andre Tiyon Swift plays for the Philadelphia Eagles. The Detroit Lions drafted him third overall in the 2020 draft after he played collegiate football at Georgia.

Swift was born in Philadelphia and attended Episcopal Academy. The four-star recruit chose Georgia over Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State to play football.

Swift was Georgia's third rushing back in 2017 after Nick Chubb and Sony Michel. He ran for 597 yards and three touchdowns on 73 carries. Swift shared carries with junior Elijah Holyfield his sophomore year, although he was mostly a receiver. He ran for over 100 yards in three straight games against Florida, Kentucky, and Auburn that season.

Swift's junior year was his breakthrough; First-team All-SEC, Swift ran for 1,061 yards and had 8 touchdowns. His 6.3 yards per rush topped the SEC.

The Lions selected Swift third in the 2020 NFL Draft's second round. First-year running back for 521 yards and four touchdowns made an early impact. The PFWA named him All-Rookie.

Swift's second season was successful. He ran for 628 yards and 5 scores. Also a valuable backfield receiver, he caught 46 passes for 357 yards.

Despite injuries, Swift ran for 576 yards and four touchdowns in 2022. He caught 41 passes for 346 yards and was a valuable receiver.

Running back Swift can catch, block, and run. Also a good pass protector. Any NFL offense benefits from him.

Philadelphia acquired Swift in the 2023 offseason. He should be a significant part of the Eagles' offense this season.

D’andre Swift’s height

D'Andre Swift is 5'9", which is short for an NFL running back. He benefits from his short height in several ways.

  • His diminutive stature makes him more agile and shifty than taller running backs. He is hard to tackle since he can cut and shift directions quickly.

  • Second, being shorter helps him stay low to the ground, giving him more leverage when sprinting between tackles. His momentum lets him break tackles and gain yards.

  • Finally, Swift can be a strong backfield receiver despite his height. He has outstanding hands and can play after catches.

D'Andre Swift's height isn't that bad overall. He exploits defenses by being agile, shifty, and elusive. Any NFL offense can benefit from him.

D’andre Swift’s Wingspan

D'Andre Swift's 72-inch wingspan is above normal for an NFL running back. Advantages of his wingspan include:

Catching radius: Swift can reach further to catch passes due to his broad wingspan. This helps when taller opponents cover him. Swift caught a 25-yard pass above the defender's head in a 2021 game against the Green Bay Packers due to his huge wingspan.

Better Balance: Swift's big wingspan helps him stay balanced when running or being tackled. Because his arms can counterweight him, he stays upright. Due to his large wingspan, Swift was able to stay on his feet after being tackled by two defenders in a 2022 game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Power: Swift's enormous wingspan boosts his running and blocking power. He can utilize his arms to push off defenders and gain yards or blocks. Swift sprinted 35 yards for a touchdown against the Chicago Bears in 2021 after pushing off a defender with his wingspan.

D'Andre Swift's wingspan makes him a better running back. It increases his catch radius, balance, and power.
