Darius Demetrius Slay Jr., popularly known as Darius Slay is an American football cornerback, currently with the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. Before finding his home with the Eagles in 2020, he spent seven seasons with the Detroit Lions. During his stint with the Lions, he made his first appearance in the Pro Bowl, led the league in 2017 with most interceptions and also earned a well-deserved position in 2017 first-team All-Pro.

The Georgia native was born in Brunswick and attended Brunswick High School. He began playing high school football there, serving as a running back and defensive back. Slay demonstrated versatility as an athlete, participating in basketball as well as track and field. Subsequently, he attended Itawamba Community College but later transferred to Mississippi State University. He played there for two seasons and concluded his collegiate career with 64 tackles, six interceptions and two touchdowns.

Following his stellar collegiate career, the Mississippi State alum began his NFL journey with the Lions when they selected Slay as the 36th overall pick in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
