Washington ran a speedy 4.65 seconds in the 40-yard dash and made the catch of the day with a sick one-handed grab that set social media ablaze.
Given that certain NFL teams will be looking into the draft for tight ends, Washington only boosted his value. Following a trailblazing display at the Combine, we expect the 21-year-old to get selected in the first round of the 2023 draft.

Interestingly, Washington also has the largest wingspan and second-largest hand measurements ever recorded at the NFL Combine for tight ends. His massive frame with ideal functional strength gives him a big advantage over most opponents.
Washington’s athleticism, size and power give him the ability to overwhelm defensive backs with relative ease. With hardly any weaknesses to his game, there will be some top NFL teams monitoring him in the draft.
His 10-foot-2 broad jump and a 31-inch vertical jump were also among the highlight reels of his performance at the NFL Combine. The 6-foot-6, 264-pound tight end has also proven himself to be a blocker with his college tape.

Darnell Washington finished the 2022 season by winning the CFP Championship with the Georgia Bulldogs. He racked up 454 yards on 28 receptions for two touchdowns and also earned second-team All-SEC honors.
Washington is a two-time CFP champion, having won the title with the Bulldogs in the 2021 season as well. He finished his three-year stint at Georgia with 45 receptions for 776 yards and three touchdowns.
The tight end has almost guaranteed himself a pick in the NFL draft this season. However, it will be interesting to see which team he plays for in the 2023 season.
