Daryl Johnston was officially promoted to USFL president on Thursday. The 57-year-old will be in charge of the league for its second season, which will commence on April 15.
According to reports, Johnston is worth an estimated $3 million as of 2023. The former NFL star made a small fortune during his playing career with the Dallas Cowboys.
Like many football stars, Johnston also ventured into broadcasting after hanging up his cleats. In 2003, the three-time Super Bowl winner joined the program Players Inc Radio when it moved to Fox Sports Radio.
Since 2013, Johnston has worked as a color commentator along with his role as an analyst on the NFL network.

He now also holds the USFL's highest-ranking title, which is also expected to come with a pay rise. However, Johnston's salary as USFL president has not been disclosed.
Interestingly, Johnston was also the General Manager of the San Antonio Commanders of the Alliance of American Football in 2019. He served as the Director of Player Personnel for the XFL's Dallas Renegades in 2020.
Johnston will be juggling his role as chief of the USFL while also working as an NFL analyst. However, it's safe to say that he will spend the majority of his time operating the Spring Football League due to his superiority in the league.
