David Montgomery is a professional American footballer who plays in the national football league as a running back for the Detroit Lions. Detroit Lions. His professional career started in the year 2019 when he was selected by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the NFL draft of 2019.

David Montgomery signed a four year deal with the Bears. In the 2019 season, David Montgomery made his official NFL debut against the Green Bay Packers where in the following match he had 18 rushing yards on six attempts and caught a pass for 27 yards. He recorded his first touchdown in his NFL career in a game against the Denver Broncos. Montgomery continued his excellent performance week after week and he finished the following season of 2019 with 889 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns with 25 receptions for 185 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. In the opening match of the 2020 season against the Detroit Lions, he recorded 64 rushing yards on 13 attempts. Montgomery had a career altering season and he finished the following season with 247 rushes for 1,070 yards and eight touchdowns.

Montgomery continued his brilliant performance in the upcoming seasons for the Bears where in the 2021 season he was placed on the injured reserved list because he suffered a knee injury in a game against the Detroit Lions. Due to the following injury he missed a few weeks but he returned in a match against the New York Giants where he recorded two rushing touchdowns in a 29-3 victory. He was also ranked at 98th by his team members on the list of Top Players of NFL 2022. In 2023 Montgomery signed a new deal for three years with the Detroit Lions.

David Montgomery is 26 years old he was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 7, 1997. The young player first came into the NFL as a wide receiver for the Chicago Bears at the age of 22.

Before his journey into the NFL began Montgomery played college football at Iowa State. In his freshman year in a match against West Virginia, Montgomery recorded 141 rushing yards and 45 receiving yards. Montgomery continued his excellent performance throughout out his college career where in the 2018 season his junior year he recorded 1,216 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns. In 2019 Montgomery announced that will not be participating in his senior year and will instead focus on his NFL Career and will enter in the NFL draft of 2019.

Montgomery did not have good childhood as he was not aware of who and where his father was. He and his mother were constantly moving from place to place because of financial issues. He once stated that he remembers all these moments in his life because they serve as fuel for his growth. Montgomery weighs around 101 kg and is 5 feet 10 inches tall. The young player thus far in his career has been a major factor for the Chicago Bears and now after signing with the Detroit Lions he is ready to write a new chapter in his career.
