David Montgomery

David Montgomery is a professional American football running back for the Detroit Lions in the NFL, as of 2024. Montgomery was drafted by the Chicago Bears with the 73rd pick in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft. In addition to 25 catches for 185 receiving yards and one receiving score, Montgomery concluded his rookie season with 889 running yards and six rushing touchdowns. His 1,070 running yards during the 2020 season put him in fifth place in the NFL. During the 2021 season, according to his teammates, he was ranked 98th on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2022. In 2023, Montgomery signed a three-year contract with the Detroit Lions and the following season Montgomery agreed to a two-year contract extension with two years remaining on his deal.

Montgomery played collegiate football at Iowa State University. Montgomery was named to the Freshman All-American in 2016. The following year, Montgomery finished first in the country in forced missed tackles (104), and he was selected to the first team of the Big 12 as well as the first-team All-American. Montgomery amassed 1,216 running yards and 13 rushing touchdowns at the end of the 2018 campaign. Montgomery played high school football at Mount Healthy High School.

Due to the ankle sprain, Montgomery had to miss one game of the season.

Montgomery hurt his left knee in the Week 4 matchup with the Lions. He had been placed on the injured reserve.

Montgomery was out for the following game after suffering a concussion during the Titans' Week 9 defeat.

Inguinal Groin Strain Grade II (2020)

During training camp, Montgomery sustained a groin injury. However, it did not affect his season.
