David Njoku, one of the best players on the Cleveland Browns roster, raised some eyebrows on Wednesday after not practicing in the first session ahead of the matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
The tight end hasn't had the best season in 2024, just like his team, but they will try to shock the league with a win against the defending champions.
David Njoku injury report: What happened to Browns star TE?

Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot reported on Wednesday that David Njoku and Joel Bitonio didn't participate in the first practice session of the week. Njoku is dealing with a hamstring issue while Bitonio's back is bothering him.

Browns Zone's Scott Petrak added that Kevin Stefanski said Njoku is considered day-to-day. He will have two more chances to show that he's ready to go against the Chiefs, but this isn't a good sign for Browns fans.
In a week where the Browns cut controversial wide receiver Kadarius Toney, losing another receiver against the Chiefs' excellent defense would be a huge blow. The bright side is that Njoku could still be available for the game and Cedric Tillman returned to practice.
In 10 games this season, Njoku has caught 56 passes for 439 yards and five touchdowns. The Browns have struggled to get close to the level they showed last season with Joe Flacco under center and are now mathematically eliminated from the postseason. However, they're still trying to compete and will look to make life hard for the Chiefs, but without Njoku on the field, the job will get significantly harder.
Who would replace David Njoku should he miss Chiefs game?
Njoku has racked up 16 catches for 94 yards and three touchdowns in his last two games and is a serious threat to opponents.
If he misses this game, Jordan Akins will likely replace him. He has recorded 24 receptions for 243 yards and one TD in 13 games this season. The Chiefs have been close to losing games all season long, but only one the Buffalo Bills have beaten them.
On Sunday, the Browns will try to do the same.
