Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku faces a fresh health challenge ahead of Week 17's matchup against the Miami Dolphins. After Sunday's 24-6 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, the veteran will undergo an MRI on his knee.
Njoku's latest setback adds to an already challenging season. He's missed four games, including the Week 15 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, due to a hamstring injury.
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski addressed Njoku's status during Monday's media session.
"I don't have all the information just yet," Stefanski said. "I'll update you guys when appropriate. As you can imagine, if he can play, he will play."

Despite the injury concerns, Njoku dominated the passing game against Cincinnati. He hauled in eight catches on 10 targets for 66 yards, serving as quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson's primary target.
David Njoku fighting through adversity
Teammate Jerome Ford talked about David Njoku's situation.
"He's a real fighter," Ford said on Monday. "He's trying to do everything he can to get on the field. I can see him in the training room. It's frustrating for him to not be on the field."
Njoku's recent production commands fantasy managers' attention. Over his last three active games, he's accumulated 24 catches on 40 targets, 160 yards and three touchdowns. This stretch includes productive outings against Denver, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati.
The Browns' quarterback situation adds another layer of uncertainty. Thompson-Robinson battles a calf injury while Jameis Winston nurses a sore shoulder. Jordan Akins stands ready as the next man up if Njoku can't suit up.
Fantasy managers should monitor Njoku's practice participation this week. His consistent target share and red zone presence make him a valuable fantasy asset when healthy, regardless of who starts under center for Cleveland.
The Browns (3-12) might exercise caution with their dynamic tight end.
