David Njoku and TJ Hockenson were among the top tight ends of the 2023 NFL season. Since then, each man has had a change in fortunes. One did not return to his team until deep into the season, while the other got hurt after the first week and has mostly been been unable to replicate the highs of the past.
Football fans know which is which, but whom should a manager consider more closely when assembling a fantay roster?

It was not supposed to be like this for David Njoku, especially coming off a monunental breakout campaign that saw him set career-highs in every relevant statistical category.
During the offseason and preseason, his Cleveland Browns were thought to have one of the deadliest aerial cores in the league - himself, quarterback Deshaun Watson and wideouts Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore and trade acquisition Jerry Jeudy.
But of course, all those expectations collapsed right in the very first game against the Dallas Cowboys. Watson played poorly, throwing two interceptions and eating six sacks, while Njoku was limited to four catches for 44 yards before leaving the field with an ankle injury that sidelined him for the next three games.
Still, he maganed to recover and now finds himself ranked TE5 according to Sportskeeda despite missing last week's game against the Kansas City Chiefs with hamstring injury. And he should dominate against the Cincinnati Bengals, who are straight-up the worst anti-TE team in the league, alloweing an average of 17.09 - more than one behind the next-worst team, the Carolina Panthers (16.01).
Is TJ Hockenson a good fantasy pick in Week 16?
TJ Hockenson needs no introduction. He was well on his way to becoming a dominant receiving threat for the Minnesota Vikings when he tore his ACL and MCL on a low hit by Kerby Joseph.
Since then, he has been trying to regain his form and now sits at TE6, right behind his peer. As mentioned before, the Seattle Seahawks are not great at containing TEs, so he should perform admirably against them.
Whom should I start between David Njoku and TJ Hockenson?
The battle is close on the Sportskeeda Start/Sit Optimizer, but ultimately it is Njoku winning. Despite the Browns' struggles, he has been more consistently available not missing a game since Week 4.
But if a fantasy manager still wants large hauls well into the playoffs, then starting Hockenson is sensible. After all, individual brilliance is said to go to waste when it does not result in at least a playoff appearance/run.
