The Miami Dolphins are hopeful to see De'Von Achane back in Week 7, and a good sign has emerged for his availability. The running back, who left the Week 5 game against the New England Patriots early due to a concussion, could clear the protocol in time and be available for Week 7.
The Dolphins had a bye week in Week 6, so he would never play anyway. But recovering from concussions is never an easy thing to do, and Miami's backfield is crowded, so his return could be an interesting topic to follow.
De'Von Achane Injury Update: What happened to Dolphins RB?
All signs point to the Dolphins' running back not missing a single game due to injury, as he's already practicing without a red jersey – meaning he's cleared for contact, one of the major bars to clear when in the concussion protocol.

Achane had just three carries for 18 yards in Week 5 against the New England Patriots before he went down with a concussion. Fantasy owners who started him surely had to be disappointed, as a game against the Patriots was a massive opportunity for him to earn yards and touchdowns.
This season, Achane has shared carries with rookie running back Jaylen Wright and Raheem Mostert. He has started four out of five games, but his excellent numbers from the 2023 season look like a mirage: he has just 3.3 yards per carry currently.
Numbers from De'Von Achane's excellent 2023 season
Arguably nobody understood what was the plan behind using a draft pick on him, considering what the Dolphins already had on the position. Many analysts criticized the pick, but after just one season under Mike McDaniel's offense, the investment was justified.
He had 800 yards on 103 carries, with his 7.8 average on yards per carry being the highest in the league by a good margin. His burst of speed was an excellent attribute to change the pace in McDaniel's vertical offense with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
Fantasy owners who drafted him can't give up so soon. When Tua Tagovailoa returns, this offense could take a drastic turn for the better.
