For DeAndre Hopkins and the Tennessee Titans, the start of the season might have to be delayed. The wide receiver suffered a knee injury during training camp and is expected to miss from four to six weeks.
The Titans desperately need Hopkins to be consistent in 2024 again. The receiver is set to be one of the most important pieces on Brian Callahan's offense, which is being crafted to Will Levis' strengths as they push to discover whether he's really their franchise quarterback.

The injury is not an easy one to deal with as he's already a veteran who has dealt with problems sometimes around his career. Nevertheless, if he's back at the time of the regular season kickoff, then there would be no problem for the team.
When will DeAndre Hopkins return?
The early reports point to a return from four to six weeks, which means that Hopkins could go from a full week of practice before the regular season starts to returning in Week 3.
If he's not able to go until then, it will be free agent signing Calvin Ridley and third-year receiver Treylon Burks taking the bulk of the reps. While they make a solid duo, having Hopkins playing with them is absolutely helpful.
DeAndre Hopkins' injury history
While he didn't have much of a history before the 2020 season, Hopkins has missed a few games since moving to the Arizona Cardinals that year, which include:
- A hamstring injury in 2021 where he missed three games
- A torn MCL in 2021 that made him miss the rest of the regular season
- A knee injury in 2022 that made him miss the last two games of the season
- A leg calf pull that made him miss a game as well
His body certainly isn't what it was, especially as he used to be one of the most physical receivers in the league. It remains to be seen how his recovery from the injury will be.
