Selected 35th overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2008 NBA Draft, DeAndre Jordan's NBA career has been marked by incredible athleticism, rim-shattering dunks, elite rebounding and defensive prowess.

In the initial NBA years, Jordan faced the typical struggles of a young player trying to find his footing in the NBA. Soon however, DJ carved out his niche as the starting center for the Clippers. The turning point in his career came when superstar point guard Chris Paul joined the Clippers team, who helped Jordan’s growth significantly.

As a traditional big man, DeAndre Jordan had a tremendous impact in the paint. Renowned for his excellent post-defense and rebounding skills, Jordan consistently averaged over 11 rebounds and two blocks per game during his prime. While his offensive skill set may have been limited, his basketball IQ in executing screen-and-roll plays with Chris Paul was amazing.

Despite his offensive limitations, Jordan's efficiency near the rim made him one of the most reliable and effective centers in the league. His ability to finish the plays with powerful poster dunks and execute putback slams contributed to an outstanding career field goal percentage of 67.5%. This is an all-time record for the career highest field goal percentage in NBA history.

From being a raw talent in the 2008 NBA Draft to a record-setting, efficient center and eventually a NBA champion, DeAndre Jordan's journey is a testament to the relentless pursuit of excellence.

DeAndre Jordan played college basketball for Texas A&M University. Under the guidance of coach Mark Turgeon, Jordan played one season with the Aggies in 2007/08. Throughout the season, Jordan played 35 games, starting in 21, and averaged 7.9 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 20.1 minutes per game. He made the Big 12 All-Rookie Team for his outstanding performances.

During the 2007/08 college season, Aggies finished the season with a 25–11 record and got knocked out in the second round of 2008 NCAA March Madness, losing to UCLA, which was led by Russell Westbrook and Kevin Love. In this final game against UCLA, Jordan scored six points on 3-of-5 shooting and grabbed four rebounds in 15 minutes.

In college, DeAndre Jordan possessed all the physical attributes to excel as a strong center in the NBA, but his overall performances for one season at Texas A&M were perceived as relatively raw and inconsistent. Despite suggestions that he should stay in college for another year to develop his game, DJ opted to become a one-and-done prospect, and declared for the 2008 NBA Draft. This decision was considered a gamble, but it ultimately paid off for him. He was selected in the second round with the 35th pick by the Clippers, and the rest is history.
