Deebo Samuel - Seattle Seahawks v San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco 49ers receiver Deebo Samuel is something of a Swiss army knife. The South Carolina alum has played just about every offensive position that you can imagine for the 49ers, and his impact is felt week in, week out.

The season started badly but has since gone according to plan for the 49ers and the franchise is in poll position to secure a playoff spot. Worryingly, Samuel went down in Week 14 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The receiver suffered a sprained MCL and ankle on Sunday night football and was carted off the field.

The injury looked bad, and some analysts feared Deebo Samuel would be out for the season. However, San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan said Samuel would be back in about three weeks. The injury isn't as bad as was initially suspected, and the wide receiver is expected to be back for a playoff run by the 49ers.

Deebo Samuel fantasy outlook

Samuel was arguably the biggest reason for San Francisco's success last season, and this year he signed a new deal to continue to shine on the West coast. Deebo Samuel was one of the best offensive fantasy players last season. He got points every week in various ways, such as by rushing, returning, and receiving the ball.

Samuel, however, didn't want to run the ball as much as in the 2021 campaign. As a result, his numbers have dropped, but he has been relevant in fantasy football. He remains a vital part of the San Francisco offense, a key component of their machine, and a primary contributor to their style of play.

Due to his injury, you can drop Samuel as he is out for at least three weeks. He will return for the 49ers, however, he will miss the fantasy season playoffs.
