Deebo Samuel picked up a calf injury against the Vikings which will keep him out of action for a couple of weeks, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan announced on Monday. Hence, the receiver is ruled out for the matchup against the Rams on Sunday.

Fantasy managers should also steer clear of picking Samuel for Week 3.
Samuel sustained a calf injury in the final minutes of the matchup against Minnesota. He racked up eight catches for 110 yards at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis and was one of the bright sparks in the 49ers' offense.
Samuel, a second-round pick by the 49ers in 2019, enjoyed a strong start to this season. He leads the team in receptions (13) and receiving yards (164). Samuel has 10 carries for 13 yards and a score.
However, San Francisco must make do without the versatile wideout for the next few weeks. Samuel has tallied 36.7 fantasy points in two games thus far, averaging 18.4 fantasy points per game.
In Samuel's absence, Brandon Aiyuk is expected to get more reps for San Francisco. The likes of Jauan Jennings and Chris Conley could also be called upon for the next few games.
