New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr has missed his team's last two games due to an oblique injury and his status for their Week 8 game against the Los Angeles Chargers remains up in the air.
Derek Carr injury update
Saints head coach Dennis Allen provided an update regarding his franchise quarterback on Monday.
Allen said that if Carr practices on Wednesday, there's a chance that he will play against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. Carr had a throwing session on Monday and is expected to have one on Tuesday as well.

If he's not ready to go by Sunday, then there's a good chance he'll be available in the next game against the Carolina Panthers.
Allen also spoke about why Carr was listed as doubtful ahead of his team's Week 7 game against the Denver Broncos.
Allen said the Saints hoped Carr could serve as an emergency quarterback. In the end though, they decided to keep him out of action.
How have Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints performed this season?
Before suffering the oblique injury, Derek Carr was having a solid second season with the Saints. Carr recorded 989 passing yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions. His 65.4 QBR ranks sixth in the league despite him missing two games due to injury.
However, the Saints' general form has been disappointing. The franchise recorded wins in its first two games but has since slumped to a five-game losing streak, dropping games to the Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons, Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and most recently, the Denver Broncos.
Their next four games before the bye week, against the Los Angeles Chargers, Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons and Cleveland Browns, will be crucial for their fading playoff hopes.
