Derrick Henry Jr. is an American football professional running back for the Baltimore Ravens in the 2024 NFL season. Throughout his NFL career, Henry has recorded over 11,000 rushing yards along with 106 touchdowns, as per ESPN. The Tennessee Titans selected Henry as the 45th overall pick in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Henry has received Pro Bowl honors five times in his professional career and was also the recipient of the NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2020.

After an eight-year stint with the Titans, Henry decided to sign a two-year $16,000,000 contract with the Baltimore Ravens in 2024 (via Spotrac). During his collegiate career, he won the prestigious 2015 Heisman Trophy after a breakout junior campaign with the Crimson Tide. Additionally, he also won the SEC Offensive Player of the Year in 2015. He went to Yulee High School where he was a multi-sport athlete. Henry decided to join the University of Alabama to play collegiate football with one of the best football programs in the nation. He had many other offers from top universities such as Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Notre Dame, Tennessee, USC and Florida State, as per Crimson Tide's official website.

Henry’s true freshman year in 2013 saw him get limited action but he got much more playing time as a sophomore. His 172 carries resulted in 990 rushing yards to go along with 11 rushing touchdowns in 2014. His junior year was the most prolific, as he was one of the driving forces due to which Alabama won the CFP National Championship in 2015, as per Crimson Tide's official website. His 2,219 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns as a junior on the ground also earned him the Heisman Trophy along with many other accolades such as the Maxwell Award, Doak Walker Award, Walter Camp Award, Unanimous All-American, SEC Offensive Player of the Year as well as being named to the First-team All-SEC, as per his profile on Heisman Trophy's official website.

As a native of Yulee, Florida, Henry attended Yulee High School. He was a multi-sport athlete as he played not only football but also basketball and track as per his Wikipedia page. In four years at Yule, he had over 12,000 rushing yards and 153 touchdowns. He finished his last year of high school football with 4,261 yards and 55 touchdowns.
