Derrick Henry is a running back in the NFL who plays for the Baltimore Ravens as of the 2024 NFL season. He was drafted by the Tennessee Titans with the 45th overall pick in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. The five-time pro bowler, who played as a backup to DeMarco Murray for the first couple of years still produced over 1200 rushing yards during that span. He became the eighth player in NFL history to carry for more than 2,000 yards in a single season with 2,027 yards and 17 touchdowns. After eight years with the Titans, Henry penned a two-year $16,000,000 contract with the Ravens in 2024, as per Spotrac. Henry has also led the NFL in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns twice in his career. As of January 2025, Henry has recorded over 11,000 rushing yards along with 106 touchdowns in his nine-year career in the NFL, as per Pro Football Reference.

Henry was born in Yulee, Florida, and began his football career there by going to Yulee High School. During his prep career, he set a national high school football record with Yulee Hornets in career rushing yards. After finishing his secondary education, the five-star recruit out of high school chose to play for the University of Alabama. His record-breaking streak continued in college too as he surpassed Herschel Walker’s single-season college rushing yards in the SEC. Henry played for the Crimson Tide from 2013 to 2015, racking up 3,591 yards on the ground.

As of January 2025, Derrick Henry has appeared in eight postseason games as per Pro Football Reference. During his sophomore campaign with the Titans in 2017, Henry got his first-ever postseason experience. He then went on to reach the postseason 3 more times from 2019 to 2021. Henry made his first playoff appearance with the Baltimore Ravens in 2024.

Derrick Henry Playoffs Win-Loss Record

Derrick Henry’s playoff record stands at 4-4 as of January 2025 from the games he has appeared in. Henry’s first playoff encounter came against the Kansas City Chiefs in the wild-card round of the 2017 season. Henry recorded 156 yards on 23 carries in that game, which Tennessee went on to win 22-21. His second game came against the New England Patriots in the Divisional Round, where he accumulated just 42 yards in 12 attempts. The Titans went on to lose the game, 14-35 (via Pro Football Reference).

His second postseason appearance came in 2019, where he played in three games. It remains his best postseason as of January 2025. He had 2 games of 180 or more yards during that stretch and helped the Titans reach the AFC Championship game. However, his performance in the Championship game was a little underwhelming as he rushed for only 69 yards on 19 carries (via Pro Football Reference).

Henry was not able to replicate past form in the next two years in both the 2020 and 2021 seasons for the Titans.

Henry made his fourth postseason appearance for the Baltimore Ravens against the Pittsburgh Steelers where he rushed for 186 yards on 26 attempts along with two touchdowns.
