The Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears clash kicked off the 2024 edition of NFL Thanksgiving in a battle of the NFC North. They came off completely different games in Week 12, with the Bears losing to the Minnesota Vikings 30-27 in overtime at Soldier Field. As for the Lions, they dominated the Indianapolis Colts 24-6 to continue their outstanding NFL season.

Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears game recap
The Detroit Lions scored on the first drive of the game. After Jared Goff couldn't connect with Tim Patrick in the end zone, Jake Bates kicked a field goal to open the scoring.
At 14:55 in the second quarter, Jared Goff found tight end Sam LaPorta for the first touchdown of the game.
Jake Bates extended the lead to 13-0 with a 36-yard field goal with 7:15 left in the second quarter. He added three more points with a 48-yard kick at 3:11 to give the Lions a 16-0 lead entering halftime.

The Bears started the second half on a strong note, with Caleb Williams finding Keenan Allen in the end zone with a 31-yard pass. Cairo Santos converted the extra point.
Sam LaPorta responded with another touchdown reception, this time catching a one-yard pass from Jared Goff to extend the Lions' lead to 23-6 after Jake Bates completed the extra point.
Caleb Williams found Keenan Allen at 13:40 of the fourth quarter for the Bears' second touchdown with a nine-yard pass. The Bears showed signs of life in the fourth quarter and Williams found DJ Moore for the third touchdown of the game at 5:36 in the fourth quarter.

They cut the lead to three with the extra point.
Chicago tried to complete a game-winning drive, but ran out the clock as they marched down the field despite having a timeout to burn.
