Detroit Lions vs. Seattle Seahawks game summary
The first quarter began rather slowly, with neither team scoring within the first two-thirds. Then, at 3:11, David Montgomery continued his dominant form by muscling his way into the end zone.
Another highlight came near the end of the first, when DK Metcalf was robbed of the ball while seeking extra yards off a reception. Carlton Davis would eventually return it deep into enemy territory.
That resulted in a Jahmyr Gibbs touchdown on the very first play of the second quarter, which Kenneth Walker would answer four and a half minutes later with a touchdown of his own. But Gibbs struck again with another TD with 11 seconds left before the final third.
The third quarter began monstrously. First, Geno Smith found rookie tight end AJ Barner in the endzone for a touchdown. But on the next drive, Jared goff responded with a Philly Special-esque reception from Amon-Ra St. Brown.
The scoring onslaught continued throughout the third quarter, with Kenneth Walker III and Jameson Williams exchanging touchdowns. Then the former opened the fourth with his third of the night.
After a Seahawks punt while down eight, St. Brown would get his touchdown, when Jared Goff found him inside the red zone on third down.
Just before the two minute warning, Dre’Mont Jones forced a safety to give the Seahawks the first of potentially two chances to steal the game. But Kerby Joseph picked off the pass from Geno Smith to end the game.
Next for both teams are NFC East teams: Lions at the Dallas Cowboys, and Seahawks at home vs. the New York Giants.
