Devin Singletary has massive expectations on his shoulders. He was signed by the New York Giants in the offseason to replace former star Saquon Barkley. He is expected to become the team's RB1 after Barkley joined division rivals Philadelphia Eagles.

That could be a very grueling and challenging task to accept and perform, given the offensive dearth around him. And should fantasy football have the same reservations about him?

  • 30 receptions
  • 193 receiving yards

That put him at #97 ECR and #132 ADP at the time the new league year began - one of the lower-ranked players overall. He currently sits at #88 and #83 respectively. Positionally, he hovers in the late #20s-early #30s.

Is Devin Singletary a good fantasy football pick in 2024?

Short answer: no.

Just within the NFC East alone, the Giants have the worst running back room. The Dallas Cowboys may have been mocked during the Draft for not finding a promising rookie running back, but Ezekiel Elliott is a highly accomplished veteran. Saquon Barkley is a star in the making, and even the Washington Commanders have a dual-threat man in Austin Ekeler.

Should you draft Devin Singletary?

The only Giants worth fantasy drafting in 2024 are Rome Odunze, Dexter Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Brian Burns. Each of these men has potential to become or continue being elite. The rest, especially the offense, are expected to struggle.

One of those will be Devin Singletary. The offensive line had received much criticism for allowing multiple sacks on Daniel Jones; which could be compounded further by a dearth of credible running talent.

Where should you draft Devin Singletary in 2024?

Sitting between Singletary are Kendre Miller and Chase Brown. Both are supposed to be backups, yet SK's Fantasy tool suggests prioritizing either of them over him, as seen in this comparison:

While he obviously dominates the rushing statistics, it is the receiving department where his stock sinks. Brown may not get as much carries as Zack Moss, but he is likely to get some snaps as a change-of-pace back and slot receiver.
