While CJ Stroud gets the majority of the credit for turning the Houston Texans season around, the offseason acquisition of Devon Singletary might have been one of the most underrated signings this past season. Even though Stroud was slinging bombs across the field, it was Singletary’s consistency as a running back that gave the team an added layer to their offense.

He has made a career out of it, starting from his days at the collegiate level with the Florida Atlantic University. Right from the get-go, Singletary was a massive contributor. In his freshman season, he would cross the thousand-yard threshold along with 12 touchdowns to his name. His sophomore campaign, however, exceeded every expectation possible. Leading the FBS in total points scored, he would finish with the most rushing yards in FAU History with a mind-boggling 1,918 yards. A semi-finalist for the Doak Walker Award, he would earn the C- USA MVP Award. He would continue his form in his final season, once again eclipsing 1300 yards and finishing his career with the most rushing yards in FAU history.

Devin Singletary Height

Devin Singletary stands at 5 feet and 7 inches tall or 1.7 meters. His frame is well below the average for the running back position. But that hasn't stopped him from becoming a valuable contributor to NFL offenses, despite the reduction in importance to the position.

For a 3rd round draftee to the Buffalo Bills with the 74th overall pick, Singletary was coming into a hefty core of running backs in the team. However, he would quickly exceed expectations and finish his rookie season with 775 yards, despite starting just 8 games. Is second year so his overall numbers regress with the splitting of duties with Zack Moss. After a slow start to his third season, he became the full-time halfback and excelled totaling 870 yards for the season. He would become a valuable part of the Bills' dynamic offense.

In the final year of his rookie-scale deal, he would again cross the 800-yard threshold, despite strong competition from James Cook. However, with an expanding cap, Singletary was seen as the Expendable option after his rookie deal expired. He would go on to sign a one-year contract with the Houston Texans that became one of the best signings for the team. Despite starting in just 10 of the seventeen games he played, Singletary would enjoy his most productive season, coming close to 900 yards as he gave the offense some respite in non-Stroud moments.
