The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants will face off on Thursday Night Football to kick off the Week 4 NFL schedule and there's a lot to like and dislike about both teams from a fantasy football perspective.
A lot was expected of this Dallas defense under Mike Zimmer but so far we have seen little of the former Vikings DC's influence pay off. On the Giants' side of things, rookie Malik Nabers and running back Devin Singletary have been at the forefront of a much-changed offense that pulled the Giants to a 21-15 win over Cleveland.
With the Cowboys and Giants set to lock horns later tonight, here's a look at how their running backs match up in Week 4.

Devin Singletary fantasy outlook for Week 4
Filling the Saquon Barkley-shaped hole on the Giants offense was a big ask, but so far, Singletary has shown he's ready to step up. In Week 3 against the Browns, he led the rushing attack with 16 carries to total 65 yards and a touchdown. It should have been two touchdowns but Singletary played it smart and stopped short of the goal line after a 43-yard run late in the game.
The Giants clearly trust Singletary with the ball as evidenced by the fact that he added 43 receiving yards on four catches last week. There's no risk of backup RB Tyrone Tracy eating into Singletary's production so if you have him on your roster, he immediately becomes a must-start against Dallas.
What's more, the Cowboys have given up the most fantasy points to running backs after three weeks of football. Godspeed, Devin Singletary. Godspeed.
Rico Dowdle fantasy outlook for Week 4
If Singletary is trending upward, Rico Dowdle is the exact opposite.
Most expected Dowdle to lead the Cowboys backfield this year considering the organization had enough faith in him to steer clear of big-name additions in free agency. They brought back Ezekiel Elliott and later signed Dalvin Cook to the roster but Elliott has been eating into Dowdle's snaps of late.
After three weeks of football, Dowdle has 23 carries while Elliott has 19, so it's clear the two are splitting the work. We may see more of Dowdle as the season goes on but Week 4 doesn't feel like an opportunity for the young RB to deliver big points.
Despite leading the team in rushing attempts and rushing yards in the Week 3 loss to the Ravens, we're yet to see consistent production from Dowdle.
Devin Singletary or Rico Dowdle: Final verdict
If the choice is between Singletary and Dowdle for Thursday Night Football, the pick is an easy one.
Rico Dowdle could very well push Ezekiel Elliott out in the weeks to come but it doesn't seem like that will happen in Week 4. Singletary has the better matchup against Dallas' defense and Sportskeeda's Who Should I Start analyzer projects a return of 10.2 points for Singletary but we expect him to overperform that number on TNF.
