Rather than embarking on the 10+ hour trip to Brazil, White will remain in Philadelphia rehabbing the ankle. Due to being ruled out of the game, expect Nakobe Dean and Zack Baun to step up in his absence. Ben VanSumeren, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and Oren Burks are currently listed as backups at the linebacker position.
What next for Devin White and the Eagles?
White will focus on resting his ankle and doing the necessary rehabilitation to get him in top shape for Week 2. White joined the Eagles after spending the first years of his pro career with the Tampa Bay Bucs.
With the Bucs, White won a Super Bowl, earned a Pro Bowl nod and was one of the better linebackers in the NFC. However, due to falling out of favor in 2023, he was allowed to leave for free at the end of last season. He joins Philadelphia on a short-term contract.
The Eagles are focused on leaving Sao Paulo with a win against the Green Bay Packers. The Packers are no pushovers, as they are fresh off a postseason run in 2023. Due to its matchup of stellar NFC playoff hopefuls, expect the game to be an impressive addition to the NFL International Game series.
