DeVonta Smith is a professional American Footballer who plays in the National Football. League (NFL) for the Philadelphia Eagles as a wide receiver. Smith's professional career began in the 2021 NFL Draft where he was chosen by the Philadelphia Eagles as the 10th overall pick in the first round of the draft. On June 3 2021 DeVonta Smith signed a four-year contract worth $20.1 million.

DeVonta Smith scored his first career touchdown against Atlanta Falcons on his very first catch. Smith continued to show his exceptional skills in the victory against Denver Broncos where Smith had two receiving touchdowns in the 30–13 victory. DeVonta Smith recorded 64 receptions for 916 yards and five touchdowns setting the Philadelphia Eagles rookie record for the most receiving yards in a single season.

DeVonta Smith wrapped up his second season by catching 95 catches for 1,196 yards and seven touchdowns. Smith had seven catches for 100 yards in the 38–35 during the loss against the Kansas City Chiefs in The Super Bowl LVII. After his brilliant performance in this early stage of his career and exceptional college statistics, it is clearly fair to say that DeVonta Smith belongs in the NFL.

DeVonta Smith was born in Amite City, Louisiana on November 14, 1998. Currently, he is 24 years old. The young player first came into the NFL as a wide receiver for Philadelphia Eagles at 22 years old.

Before his journey began in the NFL DeVonta Smith played college football for the University of Alabama where in the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship Smith had a game-winning performance to give Alabama the 26–23 victory over Georgia. DeVonta Smith continued to build his impressive form with another strong season in his junior year. On November 21, 2020, against Kentucky Smith broke the all-time SEC career record for most receiving touchdowns. Smith also became the first wide receiver to win the AP Player of the Year award since its inception in 1998 and not only that he also won the 2020 Heisman Trophy becoming the wide receiver to win the prestigious award since Desmond Howard in 1991.

Standing at 77 kg with a height of 6’0” DeVonta Smith was seen as a rare case with a combination of speed, agility, and quickness, and by his performance so far in his short career he has shown every ability mentioned. He possesses impressive skills and could hit the defense from short, mid-range, or deep. There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that in upcoming years DeVonta Smith will become a top-level NFL player.
