Dan Marino played in the NFL for a total of 17 seasons. He spent the entirety of his career with the Miami Dolphins and is widely regarded as one of the greatest quarterbacks to play in the league.

Marino led Miami to 10 playoff appearances and one Super Bowl game in 1985. Unfortunately, the Dolphins suffered a 38-16 defeat against Joe Montana's San Francisco 49ers in the one big game that Marino played in.

The season in which he took the Dolphins to the Super Bowl was one for the ages. Marino guided the team to a 14-2 record, winning the AFC East title. He also took home the MVP award that season.

The Dolphins took down the Seattle Seahawks in the Divisional Round and then beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship game. However, the Niners proved to be too much to handle in the Super Bowl.

Dan Marino was picked by the Miami Dolphins in the first round of the 1983 NFL Draft. During his 17 years in the league, he racked up a staggering 61,361 yards on 4,967 attempts and recorded 420 touchdowns across 242 games.

The former quarterback is a 15-time Pro Bowler. He was also named in the first- or second-team All-Pro eight times and earned All-AFC honors six times.

Marino finished as the NFL's passing yards leader five times and the passing touchdowns leader on three occasions. He hung up his cleats in 1999 and the Dolphins retired his No. 13 jersey in September 2000.

In 2014, he took up the position of the Dolphins' special advisor. The 61-year-old continues to be associated with the franchise in his role.
