Ever since Davante Adams arrived in Las Vegas, there has been constant speculation about him leaving the team. This season is his third with the team and appears to be his last.

According to reports, the Las Vegas Raiders are contacting other teams to determine their interest in trading for Adams, and a trade is likely to occur before the trade deadline. Davante Adams has 18 catches for 209 yards and a touchdown on 27 targets in three games this season.

Due to Rashee Rice's injury, the Kansas City Chiefs are among the teams that will be actively looking to trade for a receiver in the coming days.

After getting traded to the Raiders in 2022, Davante Adams signed a five-year $140 million contract extension with the franchise. As per Spotrac, if a team acquires Adams via a trade on the deadline, the star receiver will count for $8.6 million against the team's salary cap this year. In each of the next two seasons, Adams is due to get paid a non-guaranteed amount of $36.25 million.

The Kansas City Chiefs currently have only $4.6 million in cap space and are projected to have $25.6 million in cap space at the start of the next season. Unless they restructure the contracts of multiple players, the Chiefs simply cannot afford to trade for Adams.

Moreover, it is also very unlikely that the Raiders will trade their superstar receiver to a division rival. As a result, the New York Jets still look like the most ideal destination for Adams. The Jets currently have $17.05 million in cap space and are projected to have $86.95 million next year.

For the Chiefs, Amari Cooper is much more of an ideal trade candidate. However, it is possible that the team does not make a move at all since there is a chance Rashee Rice's injury is not a season-ending one.
