NFL teams' cheerleaders make for a popular attraction that gives teams more coverage, local support, and entertainment for fans before games and during breaks. But not all NFL teams have cheerleaders that support them on the sidelines.

The NFL has 32 teams, but seven of those franchises do not have cheerleading squads. The Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Chargers, New York Giants, and Pittsburgh Steelers are the NFL teams that have not had cheerleaders this season.

There is a similarity between the franchises that do not have cheerleaders — they all play their home games in cold cities and open-air stadiums. While cheerleaders often suit up in skimpy outfits, it isn't feasible to have cheerleaders entertain the crowd in cold weather.

However, some of the teams mentioned above have had cheerleaders in the past. But due to certain issues, they were quickly dissolved, or their activity ceased.

The Buffalo Bills used to have a cheerleading squad, but it was quickly dissolved after several cheerleaders sued the team. The Bills now have a drumline, nicknamed 'The Stampede', to entertain their home crowd during games.

The Chicago Bears used to have cheerleaders to strip up fans. However, owner Virginia Halas McCaskey did not renew the cheerleading squad's contract after their Super Bowl triumph in 1986.

The Green Bay Packers also had their own cheerleaders until 1977. However, the Packers sometimes have cheerleading squads from nearby colleges to rouse the crowd.

Another NFL team that used to have cheerleaders was the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, the Steelers also disbanded the group in 1969 and haven't had a cheerleading group ever since.

The Cleveland Browns and the New York Giants are the only two teams to have never had cheerleaders in the league's history.
