Does Le'Veon Bell still play in the NFL? What is he doing now, and where is the former All-Pro Running Back?

Social Gloves:
Le'Veon Bell at Social Gloves: 'No More Talk'

Le'Veon Bell was one of the most feared backfield players in the NFL in his heyday. He was a tank of a running back, as the former All-Pro selection was an expert at breaking the league's best rush defenders.

A dual-threat running back, Bell was as dangerous in the air as he was on the ground. His sides (especially the Pittsburgh Steelers) rode his generational talents to playoff appearances after playoff appearances.

The Michigan State University alum was never scared to demand what he felt he deserved. It might have led to a handful of awkward moments with the Steelers, but you don't earn over $45 million in the NFL by being soft.

Bell had as high a peak as an elite running back could hope for, and by the age of thirty, he was out of the league. So what is Bell doing now, where is the former All-Pro running back, and does he still have hopes of returning to the Gridiron?

What is Le'Veon Bell doing now?

Le'Veon Bell's last contract in the NFL was with the Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2021 NFL season. He was signed as a safety blanket at running back for the Bucs, as many of their other RBs were battling with injuries.

He did his thing with the Bucs, played in three games and caught a touchdown from Brady in the last game of the regular season. However, the Bucs released Bell following their elimination from the playoffs.

Following his release from the Bucs, Bell went into one of his hobbies, boxing full-time, as he explored a way to make money off his side quest. A few months later, in September 2022, he fought against former NFL running back Adrian Patterson in an exhibition boxing match.

The fight was competitive in the first few rounds but ended up with Bell knocking out Patterson in a finish for the ages. This victory gave him the confidence to fight an even more dangerous prospect before the year ran out.

Step in Uriah Hall, a former mixed martial arts champion in the UFC and a slew of other huge promotions. Considering Hall's track record in the fighting business, Bell entered into this first as a clear underdog.

However, during their October 2022 fight, Bell gave a solid account of himself, even though he lost via unanimous decision. The loss did not discourage Bell, as the former NFL star promised his fans he would be back and better.

Le'Veon Bell Career Timeline

Le'Veon Bell has played for five NFL franchises throughout his career. He has racked up minutes on the Gridiron as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Among those teams, Bell had his most success as a member of the Steelers, where he is unarguably one of the best running backs in the country.

However, he left the Steelers due to a contract dispute, and the rest of his career hasn't been planned out in the best way possible. Bell fans can still look back to when he was the best running back in the league. A time that he was giving defensive coordinators sleepless nights and when he and Antonio Brown made the Steelers look like Super Bowl dark horses.

For his career, Le'Veon Bell has put up a stat line of 1595 rush attempts, 6,554 rushing yards, and 42 rushing touchdowns. He also racked up 3,289 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns in 96 career games.
