Drew Brees is a former American Football Player who last played for the New Orleans Saints in the National Football League (NFL). Brees who was the no. 32 pick in the 2001 NFL Draft, is among the select few quarterbacks who have started in their 40s in the history of the NFL. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers (Los Angeles Chargers). Brees set the records in passing yards (78,422) and touchdowns (555), which were later broken by Tom Brady. Brees led the NFL in passing yards seven times and TD passes four times. Following his retirement, Brees joined NBC Sports as a game analyst on the Notre Dame broadcasts of the network, on Saturdays and then on Sundays, as a studio analyst for NBC's "Football Night in America”. He left NBC after May 15th, 2022.
Brees used to play baseball, basketball, and football during high school and secured a record-breaking win for his high school football team, the Austin Westlakes followed by a state championship. He was named amongst the Top 5 Most Valuable Offensive Players in Texas high schools. After finishing his secondary education, Brees committed to Purdue University where he played for the Purdue Boilermakers for four years from 1997-2000. As a Boilermaker, Drew etched his name into the Big Ten Conference and Purdue University record books. The XLIV Super Bowl champion was inducted into the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame on October 17th, 2024.
