Drew Brees is a former American football quarterback who played 20 seasons in the NFL and is a member of the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame. Brees was born in Austin, Texas. After playing college football at Purdue University, he was drafted by the San Diego Chargers (now Los Angeles Chargers) in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft with the 32nd pick. In 2006, Brees signed with the New Orleans Saints after playing five seasons with the Chargers. Brees etched his name in the team records as he led the Saints to their first-ever Super Bowl victory in 2010 against the Indianapolis Colts. He was named the Super Bowl MVP. At some point during his tenure with the team, Brees also led the Saints to the playoffs eight more times. Brees retired from the NFL in 2021. He was the NFL's all-time leader in passing yards and passing touchdowns until Tom Brady surpassed them. He is also second in career touchdown passes (571). After retiring from professional football in 2021, Drew worked at NBC Sports as a color commentator before calling it quits after one season.Drew Brees will become eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2026.
