Evan Engram and Mark Andrews have been surprisingly bad in 2024. The two tight ends had been expected to be premier passing targets for Trevor Lawrence and Lamar Jackson respectively. However, both have now found themselves surpassed by erstwhile backups in Brenton Strange and Isaiah Likely.
Nevertheless, they are multiple-time Pro Bowlers who, when given the opportunity, can dominate the aerial game for nominally run-centric teams. So who possesses the better value between them?

When Evan Engram joined the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022, he was expected to be a key contributor to a passing game that had been all but non-existent thanks to Urban Meyer's poor coaching. And he lived up to that promise, hitting 700 yards for the first time since his rookie season and helping the team win the AFC South.
He then exploded in 2023, setting franchise records for tight end receptions and receiving yards (114 and 963), but the Jaguars collapsed from a 7-3 start and missed the playoffs.
And that seemed to have foreshadowed what is happening now - Engram caught just a single five-yard pass in Week 1 and has been absent since with a hamstring injury, with the Jaguars just losing and losing.
His return could not have come at a better time, as they are coming off their first win of the season and need all the offensive help they can get against a Chicago Bears defense that boasts Pro Bowlers Montez Sweat, Tremaine Edmunds, Jaylon Johnson, and Kevin Byard.
Is Mark Andrews a good fantasy pick in Week 6?
The downfall of Mark Andrews is one of the most shocking stories of 2024 so far.
Some time ago, he was one of the top pass-catching tight ends in the league, his 6'5", 247-lb frame proving a nightmare to cover for defensive backfields as he set multiple Baltimore Ravens records. Then Logan Wilson rolled over his ankle, and he has never been the same again.
Against the crosstown Washignton Commanders, he faces a defense that has surpassed expectations. The primary threats to him are linebackers Bobby Wagner and Frankie Luvu, each cerebral tacklers who can stop plays before they get bigger.
Whom should I start between Evan Engram and Mark Andrews?
Sportskeeda' Start/Sit tool see Evan Engram having the better chance of rebounding this game week.
While the Ravens have been on the rebound with three straight wins, that is in spite of their supposed top "safety valve". For the Jaguars, while Brenton Strange has been a solid hand, it is clear that the former New York Giant is the more important man.
